Dear Tom,
As a real estate professional in Ft. Collins, I know you’re aware that networking is the most effective method of doing business in this town. A case in point is that I chose Coldwell Banker to help me find my home based upon a recommendation from Bill Moore.
Having completed the financial turnaround of Robertson Manufacturing, I am now seeking a permanent position. The Controllership position I held at Robertson has been eliminated as a result of my efforts. Have no misunderstanding–this parting of the ways is by mutual consent. There are no hard feelings between the company and me.
I hesitate to impose upon your good nature, Tom, but unfortunately my network of friends and acquaintances is limited. I believe you may be in a position to help me connect with my next job. I have enclosed a copy of my current resume and would appreciate it very much if you could make me aware of any interesting situations that come to your attention.
Please note that my skills are not limited to financial accounting. Related administrative positions, such as computer systems management are also of interest, especially since my MBA area of emphasis is Management Information Systems.
Thank you for your attention. I know you are very busy and I appreciate your help.
Best regards,
Douglas P. Arnold, Jr.
